Sikkim / Darjeeling

Sikkim offers the magical feel of a Himalayan fairy-tale land. It is an amazing place of hidden valleys, mystical monasteries, snow-fed lakes and a mountain setting covered with flowers and forests. Sikkim is a state of India tucked in the Himalaya across Nepal's eastern frontier. It is crammed in between Tibet (China) to the north, Bhutan to the east and the Indian state of West Bengal to the south. This former kingdom is home to three major population groups - Lepcha, Bhutia and Nepali - providing a colorful composite of cultures. Mt. Kanchenjunga, the third highest peak in the world at an altitude of 8,586m. dominates the landscape and is revered as Sikkim's guardian deity.

On this tour, we will fly to Bhadrapur and continue drive to Sikkim. We then continue our trip to excursion around Gangtok, Pemayantse and Darjeeling. Finally, we finish our trip with exploring tea garden, fantastic mountain views from Darjeeling.

Darjeeling & Sikkim Trek

Sikkim, the land of high Mountains and monasteries. The Land of mysticism evoked partly by grandeur of Kanchenjunga and its natural beauty. Inside the 70 monasteries (approx) of this small country are fascinating murals, images of hundreds of deities from Tibetan Buddhist pantheon. Buddhism is an integral thread in the life of the Simmimese and you are constantly reminded of it during your travel.

Sikkim Trek

The clouds play a dramatic symphony as the vapour boils up silently out of the deep valleys, taking fantastic shapes - a sight to behold. As you stand in awe, the silence is broken by the sound of bells, signalling a monastery ahead. The smell of burning juniper marks a village and then, gently the swirling mist reveals the threshold of a holy monastery - one of 67 in Sikkim . This is the experience of Sikkim .

North Sikkim High Altitude Trek

The North Sikkim Trek is a high altitude trek with the trail leading through mostly alpine vegetation consisting of beautiful alpine flowers and plants of medicinal value only the first 2 days of the trek is covered with forest area consisting of mainly of different species of Rhododendrons, Silver Fir. There are no villages, lodges or trekkers hut along the trails, it is a purely camping.
